The Cave is a family-owned Destination Smokeshop in the San Francisco Bay Area. Our family has been in the Smoke Shop industry for over two decades, and The Cave is an accumulation of everything we wanted to do: A high-end glass gallery that still has the comfortable neighborhood Smoke Shop feel.

We started from humble beginnings. The original Cave was in a small 400 square foot location on 25th Avenue in San Mateo, CA. Success came early in this endeavor, and we soon moved up the street to our current location at El Camino Real & 25th Avenue. Shortly after you first walk into The Cave, one thing will be clear, we are all about the glass!

We are the largest family-owned Smoke Shop in the industry, four-time nominee for Glass Shop of the Year at the American Glass Exposition. Our service and great products alone aren't enough to gain that reputation. in 2011, we offered two Glass Artists to come do a Meet & Greet event while delivery their orders.  This concept immediately proved quite fruitful.  We started to host many shows a year, and other stores caught on. Today, there are multiple showcases every weekend across the country, and we put on many of the largest events a year.

RVA2THEBAY was one of our first group events at the shop.  Featuring three of the hottest artists in the scene, the event showcased both unique collaborations as well as new techniques and series for all artists involved!

One of our first events at The Cave, this event showcased early work featuring many of Salt's current staples, including the Gill Perc.  Make sure the catch the mini interview halfway through!
